We are currently looking for dedicated and reliable
Abattoir Operatives to join our production team at ABP York.
About The Role
As an Abattoir Operative, you will play an important role in the processing operation, ensuring cattle are handled in accordance with animal welfare requirements and that carcasses are dressed and trimmed to both ABP and customer specifications.
You will help the team achieve production targets while maintaining strict food safety, hygiene, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Dress and trim carcasses in line with ABP and customer specifications.
- Work efficiently to meet production deadlines and operational targets.
- Ensure all processing activities are carried out in accordance with animal welfare, food safety, and company requirements.
- Seek ongoing training and development to maintain skills and follow industry best practice.
- Operate safely and responsibly while following all health and safety procedures.
- Maintain personal PPE and report equipment faults promptly.
- Work as part of a team and contribute to achieving department objectives.
- Follow company policies relating to food handling, hygiene, and workplace safety at all times.
