As an Apprentice Wastewater Treatment Operator at our abattoir, you’ll play a key role in helping the site operate safely, sustainably, and in line with environmental standards. Working alongside an experienced team, you’ll learn how to run and maintain our wastewater treatment processes, including our Activated Sludge Plant (ASP) and Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) systems. No prior knowledge is necessary, just a passion to learn!
Throughout your Level 3 Waste Water Treatment apprenticeship programme, you’ll gain hands-on experience in monitoring influent quality, adjusting treatment processes, carrying out routine sampling, completing plant checks, and supporting the day-to-day running of the effluent treatment plant. You’ll learn how to identify issues early, elevate problems, and contribute to ensuring the site meets all consent limits and environmental compliance requirements. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys practical, hands-on work, problem-solving, and learning how essential environmental systems operate within a busy food production environment.

- Experience using Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Excel, to a competent level.
