ABP Burradon is seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our team. This role plays a crucial part in managing the financial transactions of the company, specifically related to sales ledger activities and payroll processing. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of financial processes, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Sales Ledger Management
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all sales transactions.
    • Generate and send invoices to customers in a timely manner.
    • Reconcile sales ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies.
    • Follow up on outstanding payments and work with the Sales team to ensure prompt payment.
  • Payroll Processing
    • Process payroll for employees, ensuring accurate and timely payments.
    • Verify and maintain employee records related to payroll, including tax information, benefits, and deductions.
    • Stay up to date with relevant tax and labor laws to ensure compliance.
    • Prepare and submit payroll reports to management.
  • Financial Reporting
    • Assist in the preparation of financial reports and statements.
    • Collaborate with the finance team to provide data for analysis and forecasting.
    • Compile and organise financial data for auditing purposes.
  • Documentation and Compliance
    • Maintain and update all relevant documentation related to the finance department.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations.
    • Assist in internal and external audits as needed.
  • Communication and Teamwork
    • Collaborate with colleagues in the finance department and cross-functional teams.
    • Communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and employees regarding sales and payroll matters.

Qualifications, Experience And Personal Qualities

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience in sales ledger management and payroll processing.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and payroll systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other relevant software.
  • Familiarity with relevant tax laws and regulations is a plus.

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm
