ABP Burradon is seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our team. This role plays a crucial part in managing the financial transactions of the company, specifically related to sales ledger activities and payroll processing. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of financial processes, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Sales Ledger Management
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all sales transactions.
- Generate and send invoices to customers in a timely manner.
- Reconcile sales ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies.
- Follow up on outstanding payments and work with the Sales team to ensure prompt payment.
- Payroll Processing
- Process payroll for employees, ensuring accurate and timely payments.
- Verify and maintain employee records related to payroll, including tax information, benefits, and deductions.
- Stay up to date with relevant tax and labor laws to ensure compliance.
- Prepare and submit payroll reports to management.
- Financial Reporting
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports and statements.
- Collaborate with the finance team to provide data for analysis and forecasting.
- Compile and organise financial data for auditing purposes.
- Documentation and Compliance
- Maintain and update all relevant documentation related to the finance department.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations.
- Assist in internal and external audits as needed.
- Communication and Teamwork
- Collaborate with colleagues in the finance department and cross-functional teams.
- Communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and employees regarding sales and payroll matters.
Qualifications, Experience And Personal Qualities
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in sales ledger management and payroll processing.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Proficiency in using accounting software and payroll systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other relevant software.
- Familiarity with relevant tax laws and regulations is a plus.
