Role Definition:
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Catering Manager to join our team in Glasgow. You will play a crucial role with responsibility for our kitchen operations, preparing, producing, serving and delivering meals to employees during set break times. You will supervise a small team of staff, allocating duties as required. The role also includes ensuring the canteen is kept clean, produce recipes, menu planning, ordering and stocking supplies. Duties and Responsibilities
Develop well-balanced, nutritious menus and manage kitchen operations, ensuring cost-effective practices whilst maintaining high-quality standards
Compile a standardised recipe reference guide to ensure quality and uniformity
Provide lunches for internal meetings and customer visits
Ensure strict compliance with UK food safety regulations, hygiene standards, allergen handling and quality control protocols
Follow safe working practices at all times
Day to day operation of cashless payments.
Observe internal controls relating to delivery/pick up of goods and signoff of invoices
Monitor and manage stock levels
Maintain accurate records of inventory, orders, and food preparation processes and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements
Adhere to traceability process and ensure product & labelling integrity at all times
Comply with company policies and procedures, standards of operation and safe operating procedures
Provide flexibility to meet company operating requirements
Provide supportive communication to team members, peers and managers
Ensure HACCP plan is in place and operate within food safety and hygiene guidelines and procedures.
Ensure kitchen meets internal audit standards.
Identify opportunities for growth and innovation in menu offerings, service delivery and operational efficiency, incorporating customer feedback and culinary trends
Qualifications, Experience and Personal Qualities:
Accreditation Food Hygiene equivalent at minimum level 2
Proven experience as a Catering Manager in a quality-focused environment
Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications
Expertise in menu planning and development
Demonstrated ability to manage, train, and support a team effectively
Good speaking, writing and understanding spoken and written English
Good numeracy skills
Attention to detail
Flexible, adaptable, keen to learn and support others\β learning
Strong and effective team leader
Relate in a warm and professional manner with all staff
