You will be working as part of the Boning Hall team to ensure the needs of the business are met in a timely and effective manner according to the specification. You will be part of a fast-paced, proactive team liaising with colleagues and production departments and planning to ensure all deadlines are met as well as improving efficiency and developing current processes. As part of your development, you will also undertake the ABP Butchery Academy 12-week Fast Track programme.
The role involves:
- Joining the ABP Butchery Academy, a 12-week Fast Track program to learn the fundamentals of butchery.
- Progressing through various stages, learning about each primal cut, bone and trim, to the required specification and developing your knife skills.
- Understanding strict adherence to quality, animal welfare and ethical procedures.
- Following traceability processes and ensuring labelling integrity.
- Receiving training in learning about the various roles within the Boning Hall, plus other departments that work closely with the Boning Hall.
- Having the opportunity to learn more about ABP and its various divisions.
- Completing the Level 2 Food Safety and Level 2 Health and Safety qualifications.
- Improving your career prospects and developing your skills through a structured training plan.

- The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to follow detailed operating procedures with a high degree of attention to detail.
