We have a vacancy at our Kingswinford site for a Waste Water Treatment Plant Operative. You will be working as part of the Environmental team to ensure the needs of the business are met in a timely and effective manner according to the specification. You will be part of a fast-paced, proactive team responsible for looking after the Wastewater Treatment Plant.
The Role Involves:
- Ensuring the site effluent treatment plant and associated equipment is operated to its maximum efficiency and within West Midlands water consent levels, including discharge monitoring.
- Carrying out regular cleaning of the effluent treatment plant, associated equipment and surrounding yard areas as detailed in site SOPs, including pre-start checks.
- Carrying out regular testing of effluent discharge water to ensure discharge limits are within consent levels as per site SOPs and WWTP operating Guide.
- Ensuring all external areas of responsibility are maintained to ABP standard, including cleaning of the bund and tanks, and all yard area adjacent to the WWTP.
- Checking surface water monitoring points (SWMP) daily.
- Keeping the drainage system operational and unblocking drains in the yard.
- Assisting the yard team with site waste collection and recycling operations, unloading of deliveries when required (forklift training/license can be given).
- Carrying out all basic maintenance in the WWTP (training will be given) and assisting the Engineering team with maintenance and repairs when required.
