The Health, Safety and Training Manager will be responsible for implementing, coordinating, and managing health, safety, and training policies and procedures to agreed ABP UK standards in a fast‑paced food manufacturing environment where the health & safety of ABP UK workers is paramount. You will manage site compliance with applicable statutory regulations and requirements, provide guidance, advice, induction, and ongoing training. Carry out regular and comprehensive risk assessments and maintain records to ensure management have access to up-to-date safety records.
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and maintaining standard operational procedures that identify and take account of all relevant hazards.
- Adhere to group management standards and oversee group policy implementation at site.
- Ensure continuous maintenance and development of Health and Safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain a working knowledge of risk management and best practice.
- Assist in the development and delivery of in‑house training and manage training records and compliance reporting.
- Compile incident and accident statistics and support the company's objectives for an incident‑free culture.
- Perform internal Health and Safety audits and prepare for external Health and Safety audits.
- Always comply with company policy and procedure on safe food handling and hygiene.
- Carry out monthly H&S meetings with site management team and be part of H&S committee meetings.
- Induct new employees on H&S.
- Manage the Health & Safety Apprentice direct report.

Qualifications and Experience
- Evidence of carrying out a similar role and a track record of maintaining and developing a safe working environment.
- Experience of working within a FMCG environment.
- Good IT skills, competent in Excel.
- Experienced in training and able to display strong presentation skills; ability to train staff at all levels.
- Ability to promote a positive Health and Safety culture in the workplace.
- Train the Trainer qualification desirable not essential.
- Minimum required: Nebosh General Certificate (or equivalent).
- Experience in PowerBi and SharePoint desirable.
