Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, plus flexibility to ensure business requests are satisfied in line with agreed targets.

About the Role:

Reporting to the site's HR Manager and working closely with the site's leadership team, the HR Officer will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day delivery of HR operations, while acting as a trusted advisor to employees and management. This is a varied role that combines employee relations, recruitment, talent development, HR administration and culture initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate recruitment activities from advertising through to onboarding
  • Support learning, development and employee engagement and wellbeing activities
  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensuring HR systems are updated in a timely manner
  • Assisting with employee relations matters, including note taking, investigations and disciplinary or grievance processes
  • Monitor short term and long-term absences taking appropriate action to manage improvement
  • Ensure compliance with employment law and Company policies
  • Assist with payroll administration, reporting and provide holiday cover
  • Produce HR reports and contribute to process improvements
  • Provide HR advice and support to employees and managers
  • Assist the Leadership team with ensuring workforce capability, training, competence and employee engagement to support food safety, quality and business objectives

The ideal Candidate will have:

  • A qualification in Human Resources, Business or related discipline
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of confidentiality
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • A proactive, hands-on approach with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Comfortable working with HR systems and maintaining employee data
  • Collaborative, resilient and adaptable
