Your role as Business Development Manager (Japanese customers, UK):
- The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving new business growth in the UK, with a strong focus on acquiring and developing Japanese customers.
- The role focuses on building long-term relationships within the Japanese business community, leveraging an existing network in the UK, and positioning MOL Logistics as a trusted logistics partner across air freight, sea freight and warehousing business.
Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum 3+ years of experience in a commercial role within logistics (air/sea freight/warehousing). Proven track record in business development and customer acquisition. Strong preference for experience with Japanese customers or companies. Existing network within the Japanese business community in the UK is a strong advantage.
- Languages: Fluent in English; Japanese language skills are highly preferred.
- Skills: Strong understanding of Japanese business culture. Commercially driven, proactive and results-oriented. Strong communication and relationship-building skills. Able to work independently and take ownership.
Responsibilities:
- Identify, approach and acquire new Japanese customers in the UK market.
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified prospects.
- Leverage and expand an existing network within the Japanese business community.
- Manage and follow up on RFIs and RFQs, in close collaboration with internal teams.
- Ensure smooth handover and implementation of new business to operations.
- Work closely with management on strategy and market approach.
- Monitor market developments and identify new opportunities within the Japanese accounts.
- Contribute to companies sales strategy.
- Work closely with the Regional Sales Director.
