Are you an experienced Early Years practitioner ready to take the next step into a leadership role? Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a warm, well-established nursery in the Truro area to recruit a passionate and confident Nursery Room Leader for a September start. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a setting that truly values its staff and offers the chance to lead, inspire, and shape young learners’ early experiences.

About the Role

As a Room Leader, you will take responsibility for a dedicated nursery room, supporting children aged 0–5 while leading a small team of practitioners. You’ll play a key role in ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment, where children can develop, explore, and thrive through play-based learning. This is a full-time role with long-term stability and progression opportunities.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leading and supporting a team within your nursery room
  • Planning and delivering engaging early years activities in line with EYFS
  • Monitoring children’s development, progress, and wellbeing
  • Creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment
  • Building strong relationships with children, parents, and staff
  • Supporting with observations, assessments, and learning journals
  • Ensuring high standards of practice, safeguarding, and care

What We’re Looking For

  • Level 3 Early Years / Childcare qualification (essential)
  • Experience working in a nursery or EYFS setting
  • Previous experience in a Senior / Room Leader role (or ready to step up)
  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework
  • A caring, confident and proactive approach
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and support a team
  • Passion for supporting children’s development and wellbeing
