Nursery Manager – Job Description

Immediate start possible

Are you an inspiring leader with a passion for early childhood development? Do you thrive in a warm, fast‑paced environment where every day shapes young lives in meaningful ways? We’re looking for an enthusiastic, dedicated Nursery Manager to lead our team and help create a nurturing, stimulating, and joyful setting where children can flourish.

As Nursery Manager, you will be the heartbeat of our nursery—guiding staff, supporting families, and ensuring every child receives exceptional care and education. You’ll combine strong leadership skills with genuine compassion, bringing energy, creativity, and excellence to everything you do.

Key Responsibilities

You will lead and inspire a team of early years practitioners, fostering a positive, collaborative culture where staff feel valued and motivated. You’ll oversee the daily running of the nursery, ensuring high standards of safeguarding, health and safety, and compliance with all regulatory requirements.

You’ll take responsibility for delivering an outstanding early years curriculum, supporting children’s learning and development in line with the EYFS framework. Building strong relationships with parents and carers will be central to your role, ensuring open communication and a shared approach to each child’s progress.

You will also manage occupancy, budgets, and resources effectively, ensuring the nursery operates smoothly and sustainably while maintaining exceptional quality of care.

About You

You are an experienced early years professional with strong leadership skills and a genuine love for working with children. You are confident in decision‑making, calm under pressure, and passionate about raising standards in early years education.

You bring:

  • A recognised Level 3 (or above) qualification in Early Years Education (Level 5/6 or equivalent preferred)
  • Leadership or management experience within a nursery or early years setting
  • Strong knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding, and Ofsted requirements
  • Excellent communication and team‑building skills
  • A creative, proactive approach to problem‑solving

What We Offer

We offer a supportive and vibrant working environment where your ideas are valued and your impact is visible every day. You’ll have opportunities for professional development, career progression, and the chance to lead a team that truly makes a difference.

If you’re ready to lead with heart, inspire with purpose, and shape the future—this is your opportunity to shine.
