Camden-based Independent School MPS - UPS SANZA Teaching Agency is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a highly regarded Independent School seeking an exceptional Head of Reception to join their Junior School team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Early Years practitioner and leader to take responsibility for a Reception class whilst leading and developing outstanding EYFS provision across the department. The successful candidate will combine excellent classroom practice with strong leadership skills, ensuring the highest standards of teaching, learning, safeguarding and pastoral care throughout the Reception setting.
The Role Will Include:
- Monitoring the quality of teaching and learning across Reception
- Leading lesson observations, planning reviews and pupil progress monitoring
- Supporting and developing outstanding EYFS provision
- Analysing assessment data and coordinating interventions
- Supporting and motivating colleagues within the Reception team
- Acting as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead
- Leading departmental meetings and curriculum development
- Supporting the 4+ admissions process
- Developing transition links with Year 1
- Building relationships with nurseries and external agencies
Teaching Responsibilities
- Delivering high-quality EYFS teaching
- Creating an engaging and stimulating learning environment
- Maintaining high standards of behaviour and classroom organisation
- Planning and assessing effectively to ensure excellent pupil progress
- Collaborating with senior leaders on teaching, assessment and pastoral care
- Delivering workshops and curriculum sessions for staff and parents

- Be an outstanding EYFS practitioner
- Have proven leadership experience
- Demonstrate excellent knowledge of the EYFS Framework
