About the Role
We are looking for an exceptional and highly experienced Temporary Housekeeper to support a private estate in Reading, Berkshire for a short-term assignment from 29th September to 9th October. The household is maintained to an exceptionally high standard, and we are therefore looking for someone with extensive experience working within high-end private households, Grade I listed properties and/or five-star hotels. This position would suit a professional Housekeeper who is confident working with fine furnishings, clothing and fabrics, has excellent attention to detail and is accustomed to maintaining a property to the very highest standards.
Responsibilities
- Daily housekeeping and thorough cleaning of the property
- Cleaning bathrooms and maintaining bedrooms to hotel standards
- Laundry and ironing, including the care of fine clothing and delicate fabrics
- Dusting, polishing and vacuuming
- Cupboard and wardrobe organisation
- Packing and unpacking for travel
- Deep cleaning as required
- Managing household waste and recycling
- Unboxing deliveries and disposing of packaging
- Shredding confidential household paperwork
- Monitoring stocks of cleaning products, toiletries and other household supplies
- Household shopping and errands
- Liaising with the PA regarding contractors and household appointments
- Light cooking and food preparation
- Keeping outdoor furniture and areas tidy
- Watering plants and liaising with the gardening team when required
- Cleaning and maintaining the presentation of family vehicles
- Refuelling vehicles and assisting with vehicle appointments when required
- Daily dog walking, feeding, grooming and general pet care
Ideal Candidate
- Have extensive professional housekeeping experience within a high-end private household, luxury hotel or similarly demanding environment
- Have an excellent understanding of the care of fine furnishings, fabrics and clothing
- Work to an exceptionally high standard with excellent attention to detail
- Be organised, discreet, trustworthy and professional
- Be confident working independently and managing a varied workload
- Be comfortable caring for and walking a dog
- Be an experienced and confident driver, including driving larger vehicles/SUVs
- Be flexible and willing to assist across different areas of the household as required
- Be fully available for the duration of the temporary assignment
