About the Family
We’re working with a warm, thoughtful family based in central North Oxford, with a cheerful and confident 2-year-old daughter. Both parents are organised and structured, they value kindness, calm energy, and not sweating the small stuff. Their daughter is a happy, sociable little one who enjoys being outdoors, trips to the playground and library, and engaging with books and games. She attends nursery full-time (9am–5pm). The family is looking for someone steady, kind, and intuitive who can become a trusted part of their weekly routine and offer a supportive presence as they navigate a new chapter.
The Role
This is a lovely part-time position combining childcare and household support, ideal for someone who enjoys a varied role and becoming part of a family’s rhythm. Across four weekday afternoons and evenings, you’ll collect their daughter from nursery (just a 10-minute bike ride away), bringing her home for relaxed playtime and dinner. On two evenings, you’ll finish around 6:30pm after play and supper, while on the other two evenings you’ll support with bath and bedtime, finishing around 8:00pm. The exact days can be agreed together. Alongside this, around 8 hours per week will be focused on household management. This includes organising the online food shop, planning and preparing two healthy, home-cooked family-style meals (designed to last across multiple days), keeping on top of laundry, and general household organisation. Along with keeping things ticking over day to day and a general tidy on Fridays ahead of the weekend. The family has a cleaner twice a week, who you would help manage and ensure supplies are stocked. There is also the opportunity for weekend work, such as a few hours of childcare in the afternoon, as well as a once-a-month stayover when parents are travelling. Flexibility around this would be really appreciated and is a bonus in a candidate.
Ideal Candidate
- Experienced with toddlers and confident managing this age group
- Full driving licence and your own vehicle
