Job Overview
Abney & Baker, The Fairer Home Care Company is looking for two home carers to join our supportive Community Team based in Melksham, Devizes, and surrounding areas. This community‑based role supports clients predominantly around Melksham and Devizes, but may require travel across Bath, Trowbridge, Corsham, Keynsham, Saltford, Weston, and other surrounding areas.
Working Hours & Pay Rates
- Full‑time pay equivalent: over £27,000 per annum.
- Rates (effective 1st February 2024):
- Weekdays daytime: £12.30 per hour
- Weekdays evening: £12.90 per hour
- Weekends daytime: £13.80 per hour
- Weekends evening: £14.50 per hour
- Plus additional pay for Bank Holidays
- 25% extra for overtime rates on additional shifts over your requested average weekly hours and outside of your regular availability, as set out in your work pattern.
- Shift mix: 7 am‑3 pm and 3 pm‑10 pm, including alternate weekends.
Qualifications & Eligibility
- Valid UK driving licence.
- Access to a vehicle for work.
- Right to work in the UK (settled status); no sponsorship offered.
- Passion to care and support others; no prior experience required as we provide full induction training.
Responsibilities
- Support clients throughout their day, providing personal care and assistance with activities of daily living.
- Attend client appointments from the first minute of the first visit to the last minute of the last visit.
- Manage travel and waiting times efficiently, ensuring coverage of all scheduled visits.
- Maintain accurate records and complete documentation as required (GDPR compliant).
- Provide support and companionship to clients, ensuring a positive and comforting environment.
- Collaborate with your manager and teammates to deliver consistent, high‑quality care.
