Abney & Baker, The Fairer Home Care Company, genuinely cares about both you and our clients. We’re looking for 2 awesome home carers to join our local supportive Community Team based in Keynsham, Saltford, Longwell Green and surrounding areas, bringing a smile to our clients’ daily lives.
Role Overview
As a Community‑Based Home Care Worker, you will support clients predominantly around Melksham, Devizes and surrounding areas, while travelling between locations. Your work will involve attending visits, providing personal care, companionship, and support as instructed.
Responsibilities
- Attend client visits on a scheduled work pattern (typically 7am‑3pm or 3pm‑10pm, with alternate weekends).
- Provide a wide range of personal and domestic care services to clients at home.
- Travel efficiently between client appointments, ensuring all travel time is paid.
- Support each client throughout the visit from the first minute of arrival to the last minute of departure.
- Report any incidents or changes in client condition to your manager.
- Work within the team, receiving ongoing support from a dedicated manager and teammates.
Qualifications
- Valid UK driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle for work.
- Right to work in the UK and settled status (no sponsorship offered).
- Passion for caring and a willingness to learn – previous experience is not required.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
Pay & Hours
- Full rate of hourly pay, including all travel, waiting time, induction and training, and the time spent with clients.
- Weekday day: £12.30 per hour.
- Weekday evening: £12.90 per hour.
- Weekend day: £13.80 per hour.
- Weekend evening: £14.50 per hour.
- Bank Holidays: additional pay (details provided during induction).
- Average hourly rate: £13.00, based on a mix of weekday, evening and weekend shifts.
- Full‑time pay equivalent: Over £27,000 per year.
- Overtime (additional shifts beyond your requested average weekly hours) will receive a 25% extra rate.
