About The Role: We are looking for an experienced engineering leader to join us as the Maintenance & Site Services manager. Based primarily at our Rugeley site, with regular presence at Fradley and a nearby satellite facility, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our operations run safely, reliably, and efficiently. This senior position offers a rare opportunity to work alongside the current post‑holder as part of a structured succession plan. You will lead a multi‑site engineering team, oversee compliance with all engineering and safety regulations, and drive both preventative and reactive maintenance across a highly automated, 24/7 environment. Alongside day‑to‑day leadership, you will deliver capital projects and engineering improvements that strengthen asset health and support long‑term business performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with engineering and site safety regulations (electrical standards, guarding, working at height).
- Establish and oversee planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules across all sites.
- Lead timely responses to breakdowns and reactive maintenance issues to minimise downtime.
- Manage engineering budgets and site services expenditure effectively.
- Deliver capital and engineering projects that improve safety, automation, and capacity.
- Build and develop a high‑performing team of engineers, providing clear leadership, coaching, and support.
- Collaborate with suppliers and contractors to implement robust engineering solutions.
- Drive continuous improvement, reducing downtime and enhancing reliability.
What We’re Looking For:
- Significant experience in engineering or maintenance leadership within manufacturing or industrial environments.
- Proven track record of regulatory compliance and robust PPM management in a 24/7 operation.
- Experience originating and delivering engineering and Capex projects from concept to implementation.
- Strong people management skills, with the ability to lead and develop a multi‑site team.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, with emotional intelligence to manage succession dynamics.
- Background in large‑scale automation or dry powder handling is highly desirable, though transferable experience from other process industries will be considered.
- Strong budget management capability and resilience in fast‑paced environments.
