The Role & Key Responsibilities: Self-Employed Milk Sampler. Location: Holsworthy & Surrounding areas to include Bradworthy, Sutcombe, Shebbear & Black Torrington. If you enjoy being outdoors, travelling between farms, and supporting the dairy industry, this role offers flexible work across the countryside collecting individual cow milk samples.
NMR (National Milk Records) supports the UK dairy industry by providing essential services like milk testing, recording, and data insights. Our work helps farmers monitor herd health, improve milk quality, and boost productivity, offering valuable information on breeding, nutrition, and disease management.
As a Self-Employed Milk Sampler, you’ll visit farms to collect milk samples from individual cows over a whole milking. These samples are crucial for NMR to deliver detailed reports, empowering farmers to make informed decisions that keep their herds healthy and their businesses thriving.
Responsibilities
- Visit farms to collect milk samples from individual cows during milking.
- Work as a self-employed contractor with payment based on herd size, discussed before allocation to a farm.
