Job Description
Robert Walters is exclusively partnering with ABN AMRO in the search for a Legal Counsel with strong experience in UK financial services regulation to join their highly regarded legal team in London. This is a fantastic opportunity for a regulatory lawyer looking to move in-house and gain exposure across a wide range of legal matters, within a supportive and inclusive culture.
The Role
As Legal Counsel, you will work closely with stakeholders across the UK business and act as a key advisor on a broad range of financial regulatory issues, with the support of the team both in the UK and internationally. This is a high-quality and wide-ranging role offering exposure to strategic matters at the heart of the bank's UK operations, all within a culture that genuinely values collaboration, development and work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advising on all aspects of UK financial regulation, with a focus on FSMA, the PRA Rulebook, FCA Handbook and other key regulatory frameworks.
- Supporting on matters related to regulated activities, investment and payment services and the regulatory perimeter.
- Monitoring and interpreting changes in UK and EU-derived financial regulation.
- Liaising with internal stakeholders across legal, compliance, risk and the wider business.
About You:
- Lawyer with 4+ years' PQE, gained at a top-tier law firm or in-house at a reputable financial institution.
- Strong technical expertise in UK financial services regulation, including assimilated EU law.
- A clear understanding of the UK regulatory landscape and its impact on banking operations.
