We’re the UK branch of ABMI, a French engineering consulting group with over 35 years of experience delivering high-level expertise in critical industries like nuclear energy, aerospace, and transportation. ABMI is known for its deep technical knowledge and ability to adapt its skills to new sectors. Our strength lies in choosing focus over breadth. In the UK, we’re applying our nuclear expertise to projects with EDF, a long-standing client we’ve supported for years in France.

As a Structural Engineer, you will play a key role in coordinating, reviewing, and ensuring the quality of civil and structural deliverables, working closely with design partners and internal stakeholders. Key responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out and coordinating review and acceptance of deliverables in their scope of activity.
  • Producing building-specific documents such as handover reports or hypothesis notes.
  • Responsible for raising, and following up on building specific technical open points as a first point of contact for the L3 civil designer.
  • Supporting the civil building lead and contract engineering lead in coordination with civil designer and other stakeholders for producing the design.
  • Coordinating and carrying out the resolution of building specific technical topics and tracking the evolution of these activities in their scope of activity.
  • Supporting the contract engineering lead for the preparation of progress reports for the Client Project Manager and alerts of any technical risks to program.
  • Supporting the contract engineering lead for reviewing technical proposals for variations.

At ABMI UK, we combine the strength of a well-established European engineering group with the agility of a human-sized team. Here, you’ll join a consulting company, not a recruitment agency — a place where your expertise truly matters, and where your voice helps shape our future.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Proven experience in a civil engineering design office, with a focus on the design and detailing of reinforced concrete structures, ideally for industrial or infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with Eurocodes, particularly those related to civil and structural engineering.
  • Understanding of reinforced concrete design principles, including detailing standards and practices.
  • Previous experience in the nuclear sector is a strong asset.
  • Sound knowledge of Health and Safety regulations relevant to civil engineering activities.

ABMI is an Equal Opportunity Employer: We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. We welcome applications from all qualified candidates, regardless of race, gender, disability, sexual orientation, or background.
