RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide technical oversight to the civil and structural packages for Hinkley Point C and Sizewell C.
  • The position will be based in Bristol, in a permanent contract.
  • Receive, analyze and verify the consistency of the input data from other disciplines for the scope of responsibility.
  • Production of deliverables for which they are responsible (design hypotheses, methodology and assumption notes; technical specifications; calculation notes).
  • Coordinate the work of CAD Designers.
  • Perform technical verifications of civil engineering design notes, models and drawings.
  • Coordinate comments from other external entities on these documents and ensure that the final content is agreed by all parties.
  • Contribute to correct design configuration management: preparation of design changes, participation in design change committees, use of open points management tool and margin management tool when appropriate.
  • Contribution to the load management process.
  • Manage the interface with civil designers, providing them all necessary inputs at the right time, following their progress and ensuring timely delivery of the design.
  • Liaise with site-based engineering teams to facilitate construction.

BACKGROUND AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in civil engineering.
  • Civil engineering design office experience, particularly in the design and detailing of industrial reinforced concrete structures.
  • Experience in the nuclear sector would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Eurocodes related to civil engineering.
  • Knowledge of the design and detailing of reinforced concrete.
