As a Mechanical Field Engineer, you will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering and construction teams to support the successful delivery of mechanical installation and field engineering activities. You will ensure that mechanical works are technically compliant, safely executed, and effectively integrated within the wider project environment. Your role will focus on supporting construction readiness, resolving site‑based technical issues, and maintaining high standards of engineering quality throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Provide on‑site mechanical engineering support for installation, testing, and commissioning activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, procedures, and quality requirements.
- Coordinate with construction, commissioning, design, and quality teams to resolve technical queries, engineering issues, and interface challenges across mechanical systems.
- Review and interpret mechanical drawings, technical specifications, work packages, and procedures to ensure accurate implementation and construction compliance.
- Support inspections, walkdowns, and testing activities to confirm mechanical systems and installations meet design intent and project standards.
- Review field changes and engineering modifications to assess impacts on system integrity, safety, and configuration management requirements.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure all mechanical activities are carried out in accordance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Monitor progress of mechanical activities, identify risks or construction constraints, and support timely resolution to maintain project schedules and delivery milestones.
Who You Are
- Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- Experience working in highly regulated environments, ideally within nuclear, energy, or large‑scale infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, installation activities, construction practices, and engineering interfaces.
- Experience supporting site‑based engineering, construction, testing, or commissioning activities.
- Ability to resolve complex technical challenges in collaboration with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Strong communication, organisational, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proactive and comfortable working within evolving project environments, engineering changes, and construction constraints.
