As a Mechanical Engineer, you will support the delivery of complex engineering projects by contributing to the design, coordination, and technical development of mechanical systems. You will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure mechanical designs are technically robust, aligned with project requirements, and integrated effectively within the wider project environment.
Responsible for the design of mechanical systems, you will help maintain design consistency across interfaces while supporting engineering progress. You will collaborate with other engineering disciplines, suppliers, and project stakeholders to resolve technical issues, support design development, and ensure mechanical solutions meet project milestones and regulatory expectations.
Key Responsibilities- Provide mechanical engineering support, ensuring alignment with project requirements, technical standards, and project milestones.
- Contribute to the development and coordination of mechanical designs, ensuring compatibility with interfacing disciplines and project constraints.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including layout, civil, contracts, nuclear safety, hazards, electrical, I&C, environment, and commissioning teams to resolve technical challenges.
- Support the review and development of mechanical design documentation, specifications, and technical deliverables.
- Identify and support the resolution of technical issues impacting mechanical systems, escalating where necessary to ensure project progress is maintained.
- Participate in technical reviews, engineering meetings, and project coordination activities.
- Promote design stability by reviewing proposed modifications and ensuring changes are technically justified and properly assessed.
- Support the implementation of engineering changes by ensuring impacts are understood and documentation is updated accordingly.
- Assist with maintaining configuration consistency by ensuring mechanical design information and specifications remain accurate and traceable.
- Monitor the maturity of mechanical designs to ensure they meet project requirements and are delivered in line with engineering and project expectations.
- Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience working in highly regulated environments ideally nuclear, energy, or large-scale infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, design interfaces, configuration management, and multi-disciplinary engineering coordination.
- Ability to address complex technical challenges in collaboration with multiple engineering disciplines.
- Excellent communication, organization, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proactive and comfortable working with evolving designs, engineering changes, and complex project environments.
