SHIFT PATTERN: 3 days over 7, 24 hours per week

PAY RATE: £12.85 per hour

Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Shopping Centre Cleaner to join our housekeeping team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation throughout a busy shopping centre environment, ensuring a safe and welcoming experience for customers, tenants, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out general cleaning and housekeeping duties throughout the shopping centre.
  • Maintain cleanliness of public areas including malls, corridors, entrances, toilets, lifts, escalators, stairwells, and staff areas.
  • Sweep, mop, polish, and disinfect surfaces as required.
  • Empty bins and dispose of waste safely and efficiently.
  • Respond promptly to spillages and cleaning emergencies to maintain safety standards.
  • Replenish consumables such as soap, toilet paper, and hand towels in washroom facilities.
  • Use cleaning equipment and machinery safely and correctly.
  • Always follow health and safety procedures, including COSHH regulations.
  • Report maintenance issues, hazards, or damages to supervisors.
  • Work as part of a team to ensure the shopping centre remains clean, presentable, and operational during busy trading periods.
  • Provide excellent customer service when interacting with members of the public.

Requirements

  • Previous cleaning or housekeeping experience preferred but not essential.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, busy public environment.
  • Good attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Flexible approach to working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays if required.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures is desirable.
