ROLE OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE
Working as a member of the Passengers Services team, you will drive the company’s ambulances or minibuses on the airfield to transfer passengers with reduced mobility to or from aircraft, and drive electric buggies and push wheelchairs within the terminal building as needed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Complete the daily Vehicle Check Sheet to maintain operational reliability, reporting any defects per procedure.
- Drive company vehicles ensuring safety and security.
- Operate vehicle safely within close proximity to aircraft using all safety systems.
- Maintain a clean and tidy vehicle at all times.
- Ensure PPE is worn when operating airside.
- Deliver or collect passengers at the aircraft door and assist with transfer into seats or wheelchairs using safe manual handling techniques.
- Complete Customer Care Agent duties within the terminal when required, including escorting passengers and assisting PRS’s through baggage reclaim.
- Update the Allocator on job progress using PDA and radio.
- Adhere to all Heathrow airport airside driving requirements.
- Promote a safe and secure environment at all times.
- Operate all company equipment post‑training (aisle chairs, slings, porta‑ramp, taillift).
- Follow accident and incident reporting procedures.
- Stay informed of airport updates (OANs/OSIs).
- Comply with airport bylaws when operating airside.
- Perform any reasonable task requested; role may vary with demand.
- Work flexible shift patterns including early starts, late finishes, nights, weekdays, weekends, bank holidays.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Maintain a professional image at all times.
- Remain calm and reasonable in pressured situations.
- Demonstrate passion for people and excellent customer service.

- Previous airline or airport experience desired, but not essential.
- Experience in similar role or driving larger vehicles advantageous.
