SCOPE OF THE ROLE
As an experienced business development manager, you will drive and deliver in line with the strategy for new business growth. Working with a team of sales professionals, you will be responsible for building and developing a pipeline of new business opportunities, providing solutions to clients who are seeking a trusted facilities management partner to deliver cleaning, security, mechanical & electrical, and associated services. The team of SME’s within the business will support in creating winning solutions. As an expert within your field, you will demonstrate a successful track record in identifying potential opportunities, building strong client relationships, providing compelling client solutions, and successfully closing opportunities.
PURPOSE AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Able to identify and exploit new sales opportunities
- Develop a pipeline that executes short and long-term sales plans, attract, and connect with new prospects
- Create proposals, respond to RFPs, facilitate, and close new business
- Be responsible for and own your tender proposals, working closely with the central proposal and commercial teams to produce a compelling, winning solution for the client
- Work closely with the operations team in strategic and financial planning when creating client solutions
- Establish and maintain effective communication links with other areas within the business
- When new business is achieved, ensure that the client transitional process is effective
- Maintain accurate records of all sales activity
- Maintain awareness of company services and relevant sales techniques
- Work closely with the sales director to ensure that the company maintains and develops its competitive position
- Monitor bid schedules and understand the competition in the marketplace
- Be part of new business development initiatives and the promotion and marketing of ABM’s services to achieve the company's business plan and corporate objectives
- Support online and direct marketing campaigns
- Undertake any other duties which may be requested by the business from time to time
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Extensive experience within a sales or business development role including salesforce, sales pipeline & forecasting
- A strategic thinker with excellent leadership skills. A proven track record in demonstrating success in winning contracts
- A ‘highly driven’ approach, results orientated with a passion for developing and implementing solutions with clients
- Strong understanding of the Facilities Management industry
- A proven track record in identifying new business opportunities, meeting an annual revenue sales quota, and identifying customers’ needs
- Excellent presentation skills
- A high level of commercial awareness and experience in dealing with an environment of change
- Effective interpersonal skills, able to easily build rapport with both external and internal customers
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written
- Able to present compelling, detailed, sales proposals
- Fluent written and spoken English
- Highly organised with the ability to handle multiple proposals and processes simultaneously
