- Conduct your duties as instructed by the Team Leader for that day. You do not have the authority to change your own, or any other operative’s duty for the day. This is a management task.
- When on the shop floor, look everywhere, including up, and wipe over all equipment as you pass them. This includes benches, mobile phone charging units, advertising screens and advertising boxes for the stores.
- At the end of your shift, clean your trolley so it is ready for the next operative. This includes putting any used mops and cloths in to be washed.
- Do not concern yourself with what any other operative is doing – it is not your place to comment. If you have any genuine concern, request a meeting with your line management team for proper handling. We will not tolerate complaints about colleagues as it affects the team dynamic.
- Breaks are designated by the Team Leaders and must be adhered to. If you start your break later than told you must return on time. Exceptions apply when dealing with a large spillage or incident. Any additional break time may result in monies being deducted.
- You may enter the Blue Corridor 20 minutes before your shift ends to fully clean your trolley and deal with dirty cloths/mops. When starting your shift, you must be on the shop floor no later than 15 minutes past your start time to prep for your shift.
- Carry a Dyster while on shift and complete Spillage Logs and Toilet Check sheets when stationed in them. Give all spillage log sheets to Customer Services at the end of your shift.
- Look presentable on shift. The uniform must be clean and tidy; safety shoes are required unless a Doctor’s note is provided. Trousers should be secured with a belt if too loose; tops must fully cover the stomach.
- COSHH sheets, Risk Assessments and Toolbox talks must be read annually and signed off.
- Failure to comply may result in disciplinary action starting with a file note, followed by an investigation and then disciplinary if necessary.
