Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off, 40 hours per week
Pay rate: £14.35 per hour
Purpose
Working as a member of the PRM Airside Driver Team, you will drive the Company’s specialist vehicles on the airfield to transfer passengers with reduced mobility (PRM’s) from the aircraft to the terminal building or from the terminal building to the aircraft. The vehicles range from minibuses to Class 2 rigid heavy goods type vehicles, for which full training and instruction will be given. You will also be required to assist PRM’s onto the aircraft, to their seat or into the ABM vehicles or terminal buildings which involves passenger and manual handling techniques. There will also be the need to perform other driving duties as required such as bus driving on the airfield, to deliver safe, efficient, and effective bus transportation of airport & airline passengers (ground staff, crew members and other client groups) between designated transfer points. The job is performed in buses that do not require a PCV licence. Full training will be provided for all vehicles. Operating mainly airside, but with the willingness to work in any areas the business deems necessary. This job offers regular daily routine, with some variations on occasion.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete the daily Vehicle Check Sheet, to maintain the operational reliability of the vehicle, reporting when necessary any vehicle defaults in line with the Vehicle Inspection procedure.
- Drive the company vehicles ensuring that the vehicle is safe and secure at all times.
- Drive any vehicle across both the PRM contract and the Cobus contract, this would encompass minibuses, AMBI vehicles, buses, and any other vehicle as required, full training will be provided.
- Operate the vehicle safely within close proximity to the aircraft using all safety systems of the vehicle.
- Maintaining a clean and tidy vehicle at all times.
- Deliver or collect the passengers at the aircraft door and assist with the transfer into their seat or wheelchair through safe manual handling techniques.
- Complete Customer Care Agent (CCA) duties within the terminal when demand requires, this may include escorting passengers through the terminal/security and boarding flights or meeting arriving flights and assisting PRM’s through to baggage reclaim.
- Ensure that the Allocator is updated on progress of jobs at all times using PDAs and radio.
- Observe all Bristol airport airside driving requirements.
- Promote a safe and secure environment at all times.
- Undertaking any other duties as reasonably required.
Requirements
- Full clean UK driving licence.
- Experience in a similar role or driving larger vehicles would be an advantage.
- Carry out any reasonable task requested.
Please note that any applicant that has spent more than 6 months in any country other than the UK in the last 5 years will need a police clearance from all countries that this would apply to. The police clearance will need to cover the full date range the applicant was in the specific country, furthermore, the police clearance needs to be obtained before the applicant attends any interview with ABM.
