Role Overview And Purpose
Utilise your core skills as a Fabric Engineer to conduct vital maintenance and repair on the London Fire Brigade estate. Be responsible for your own health and safety on site and follow method statements and risk assessments as standard on all sites, highlighting specific requirements as required. Assist with the completion of standard maintenance and repair within the mechanical, electrical and building fabric trades. Provide accurate quotes above the comprehensive threshold to an acceptable standard for quote submission.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete all necessary paperwork for the customer whilst on site and obtain a customer's signature to enable the job attended to be invoiced without any delays.
- Complete the engineer's worksheet in full, giving full details of plant that requires additional work.
- Identify lifecycle replacement requirements.
- Conduct Fire Door inspections in line with SFG20 requirements.
- Conduct locksmith repair and replacement requirements.
- Conduct tiling repairs and new installations.
- Perform glazing repairs.
- Execute plastering and painting repairs/light installations.
- General carpentry/handyman duties.

- Always follow group and company policies and procedures.
- Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment.

- Report any issues or training needs to your line manager and/or via your divisional incident reporting system.
