LOCATION: Victoria Square, Belfast
SHIFT PATTERN: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
SALARY: Competitive
Purpose: To provide multi-site coverage, attending to breakdowns, completing EICR remedials, and engaging in planned preventative maintenance across client sites. The General Electrician will play a vital role in maintaining the electrical systems at our client sites. This diverse role encompasses tasks such as high bay internal light repairs, external lighting repairs, and addressing EICR code 1 & 2 issues. Successful candidates must meet response time requirements for priority tasks, utilise a PDA for task management, and take ownership of managing their workload efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) checks on electrical systems and equipment in line with schedules.
- Conduct visual inspections to identify defects, wear, damage, or safety hazards.
- Complete basic fault finding and carry out minor repairs where appropriate.
- Undertake small maintenance tasks, including:
- Replacing lamps, switches, sockets, and minor components
- Tightening connections and carrying out basic adjustments
- General upkeep of electrical installations
- Accurately record findings, actions, and reports using maintenance systems or logbooks.
- Liaise with on-site contractors to ensure relevant information is gathered, shared, and communicated effectively between teams.
- Monitor contractor activities where required to ensure work aligns with site standards and safety procedures.
- Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety regulations and site procedures.
- Escalate major faults or issues requiring specialist intervention.
- Maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition.
- Support other maintenance activities when required.
