LOCATION: EDEN SHOPPING CENTRE
PAY RATE: £12.60 per hour
SHIFT PATTERN: 6 on 2 off rotation
WORKING HOURS: 40 hours per week
Overview
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conduct your duties as instructed by the Team Leader for that day. You do not have the authority to change your own, or any other operative’s duty for the day. This is a management task.
- When on the shop floor, look everywhere, including up, and wipe over all equipment as you pass them. This includes the benches, mobile phone charging units, advertising screens and advertising boxes for the stores.
- At the end of your shift, clean your trolley so it’s ready for the next operative. This includes putting any used mops and cloths in to be washed.
- Do not concern yourself with what any other operative is doing – it is not your place to comment on their work. If you have a genuine concern, request a meeting with your line management team to address it properly. No comments about colleagues are tolerated as it impacts the team dynamic.
- Breaks: follow the Team Leader’s designated break times. If you start your break later than told you must return on time as per the Team Leader’s schedule. Exceptions apply for large spillages or incidents. Any additional time taken on a break may result in deduction of pay.
- You may enter the Blue Corridor 20 minutes before your shift ends to fully clean your trolley and deal with dirty cloths/mops. At shift start, you are expected to be on the shop floor no later than 15 minutes after your start time to prep for your shift.
- Carry a Dyster while on shift and complete Spillage Logs and Toilet Check sheets when stationed in those areas. Give all spillage log sheets to Customer Services at the end of your shift for logging.
- Look presentable on shift. Wear a clean, tidy uniform and safety shoes unless a doctor’s note states otherwise. Trousers should be secured with a belt if loose; t-shirts/jumpers should fully cover the stomach.
- COSHH sheets, Risk Assessments and Toolbox talks must be read annually and signed off.
- Failure to comply may result in disciplinary action starting with a file note, followed by investigation and potential disciplinary if necessary.
