ABM Facility Services UK is looking to recruit Cleaning/Waste Operatives on a full-time permanent basis for a high-profile client in the Wynyard area.
Location: Wynyard
Shift Pattern: 4 On / 4 Off Rota
Hours: 48 Hours per week
Rate of Pay: £12.50 per hour
Status: Full Time / Permanent
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Work within a janitorial and waste removal team in a warehouse environment, carrying out duties effectively and efficiently.
- Provide a high janitorial service internally and externally in welfare areas such as washrooms, break rooms, canteen, reception, offices, locker rooms and production areas.
- Handle waste generated on site via approved waste streams and prepare it for transportation.
- Use walk-behind and ride-on sweepers, scrubber-dryers, and other cleaning equipment; ensure all equipment is maintained and in safe working order.
- Respond to any spillages and callouts from the client’s on-site team.
- Communicate effectively with team members and line managers.
- Wear protective clothing (PPE) and comply with Health & Safety legislation and policies.
- Work independently or as part of a team, exhibiting strong communication skills.
- Undergo full training on all cleaning methods and equipment.
Person Specification:
- Satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check at a basic level and knowledge of health and safety.
- Knowledge of cleaning methods or willingness to learn.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Independently and as part of a team.
- Quickly adapt to busy operational environment.
- Reliable and flexible approach to work.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Physically fit to perform active duties.
Essential:
- Willingness to participate in the company’s screening process, including completing a basic DBS check and random drug and alcohol testing.
