Purpose: To play a pivotal role in our commitment to delivering innovative facilities management solutions. Operating within a fast-paced environment, this position is key to providing response maintenance repairs, general joinery works, and a range of handyman activities. The role will encompass Response Repair Services, Void Works, surveying, fault finding, roofing repairs, and various handyman tasks to ensure a comprehensive and efficient approach to facility maintenance.
Service Provision
- Response Repair Services: Address maintenance requests promptly, including joinery repairs, staging and caster wheel replacement and a range of handyman activities. Conduct surveys and fault finding to identify and resolve maintenance issues efficiently.
- Roofing Repairs: Perform roofing repairs, addressing leaks, damages, and general maintenance to uphold the structural integrity of buildings. Engage in reactive gutter cleaning where safe practices allow, downspout maintenance, and other related handyman tasks.
- Handyman Activities: Tackle various handyman activities, including but not limited to: Painting and touch-ups, drywall repairs and patching, basic plumbing repairs such as fixing leaks and unclogging drains, installation of fixtures, shelving, and other components, furniture/office moves.
Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers, addressing concerns, and providing information on the repair and maintenance processes. Strive to exceed customer expectations through the delivery of high-quality joinery and handyman services.
Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM): Undertake PPM works as required to include: Fire door inspections, gutter/roof inspections, window inspections throughout the estates.
Efficiency and Cost-effectiveness: Work diligently to complete joinery and handyman tasks efficiently, minimising downtime for clients. Utilise resources effectively to ensure cost-effective solutions without compromising on quality.
Collaboration: Collaborate with other members of the facilities management team, including technicians, supervisors, and project managers. Communicate effectively with colleagues to coordinate and prioritise tasks for optimal project outcomes. Conduct routine inspections of various emergency lighting systems throughout the client's facility. Test and verify the functionality of emergency lights and exit signs. Replace failed equipment, lamps, battery, ballasts, gear trays, fittings etc. Ensure that all emergency lighting fixtures are properly positioned and free from obstructions. Maintain detailed records of inspections, tests, and maintenance activities. Stay up to date with relevant safety regulations and industry best practices. Report any safety hazards or violations discovered during inspections. Troubleshoot and resolve emergency lighting system malfunctions promptly.
Skills and Experience
- Essential Criteria: Proven experience as a joiner and handyman, with expertise in response maintenance works. Strong understanding of surveying, fault finding, roofing repairs, and general joinery practices. Versatility in performing a variety of handyman tasks. Excellent customer service skills and effective communication with clients and team members. Adherence to safety regulations and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment. Certification or apprenticeship in joinery. UK Driving Licence.
