LOCATION: Aberdeen Airport, AB21 7DU

SHIFT PATTERN: 6 on 3 off, 40 hours per week

PAY RATE: £14.59 per hour

ROLE OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE

Working as a member of the PRM Airside Driver Team, you will drive the Company’s specialist vehicles on the airfield to transfer passengers with reduced mobility (PRM’s) from the aircraft to the terminal building or from the terminal building to the aircraft. The vehicles range from minibuses to Class 2 rigid heavy goods type vehicles, for which full training and instruction would be given. You will also be required to assist PRM’s onto the aircraft, to their seat or into the ABM vehicles or terminal buildings which involves passenger and manual handling techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete the daily Vehicle Check Sheet, to maintain the operational reliability of the vehicle, reporting when necessary any vehicle defaults in line with the Vehicle Inspection procedure.
  • Drive the Company vehicles ensuring that the vehicle is safe and secure at all times.
  • Operate the vehicle safely within close proximity to the aircraft using all safety systems of the vehicle.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy vehicle at all times.
  • Deliver or collect the passengers at the aircraft door and assist with the transfer into their seat or wheelchair through safe manual handling techniques.
  • Complete Customer Care Agent (CCA) duties within the terminal when demand requires, this may include escorting passengers through the terminal/security and boarding flights or meeting arriving flights and assisting PRM’s through to baggage reclaim.
  • Ensure that the Allocator is updated on progress of jobs at all times using PDAs and Radio.
  • Observe all Aberdeen airport airside driving requirements.
  • Promote a safe and secure environment at all times.

Requirements:

  • Full clean UK driving license with D1.
  • Experience in a similar role or driving larger vehicles would be an advantage.
  • Carry out any reasonable task requested.

Please note that any applicant that has spent more than 6 months in any country other than the UK in the last 5 years will need a police clearance from all countries that this would apply to. The police clearance will need to cover the full date range the applicant was in the specific country; furthermore, the police clearance needs to be obtained before the applicant attending any interview with ABM.
