Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Carry out routine safety inspections, MOT preparations, and services to a higher standard than DVSA minimum standards, rectifying defects identified during inspections.
- Rectify drivers' defects upon request.
- Attend promptly all vehicle breakdowns as requested by the Fleet/Engineering Manager or Supervisor.
- Correctly complete job cards, safety inspection sheets, and driver defect reports for each job before starting the next.
- Keep the workshop clean and tidy (clean as you go).
- Comply with company health & safety policies and procedures.
- Complete any other reasonable work-related requests, including travel.
- Work required shift patterns.
Qualifications
- PCV/HGV licence desirable.
- Previous experience.
- Relevant City & Guilds qualifications – NVQ 2 in mechanical commercial vehicles.
- Excellent diagnostic skills and familiarity with Department of Transport standards (DVSA).
- Team working and good communication skills.
