SHIFT PATTERN: 5 on 2 off, Days and Night, 44 hours per week

Job Objective & Responsibilities:
We are looking for a security officer who is a team player, flexible, proactive, and has report writing experience. You should be calm under pressure and able to respond to emergency situations with strong IT experience and knowledge. You will report to the soft service manager supervisor and deliver Security within the Shopping Centre environment. Excellent communication skills, common sense, and a can-do attitude are essential.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage all shopping centre procedures in line with the codes of practice.
- Carry out regular patrols of the shopping centre as detailed in the site Assignment Instructions, being always proactive.
- Support and provide guidance to the soft service manager and shopping centre management.
- Liaise closely with statutory authorities and security supervisor when dealing with incidents and providing information.
- Control and prioritise incidents ensuring all key personnel are kept fully informed and agreed escalation procedures are followed.
- Manage and monitor access & egress to and from the service yards and management office.
- Ensure that the shopping centre is a safe and non-threatening environment for all customers and site staff.
- Support the soft service manager to ensure necessary security audits are undertaken and any noncompliance highlighted and managed to completion.
- Manage excellent relationships with clients, suppliers, and other partners.
- Interact with all visitors and tenants within the shopping centre, delivering first-class customer-focused service.
- Aid third-party contractors/visitors ensuring all site procedures and policies are adhered to.
- Demonstrate excellent written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Maintain good knowledge of the local area.
- Exhibit excellent levels of customer service at all times.
- Demonstrate the ability to think and act quickly in emergencies or under pressure.
- Maintain a smart appearance befitting the company.
- Respond to all incidents, taking ownership of the situation through to its natural conclusion to both client and management satisfaction.
- Communicate effectively with the Client, Soft Service Manager, Security Shift Supervisor, and Security.
Essential:
- A valid SIA Door supervision license.
Desirable:
- A valid SIA Public space surveillance (CCTV) licence.
- CCTV/Security control room experience.
