We are seeking a Senior BI Analyst with deep expertise in the Microsoft Power Platform to play a critical role in shaping the organisation's data and analytics strategy. This is a senior, high-impact position requiring advanced technical capability, strong commercial acumen, and the ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy. The role is responsible for leading enterprise-level BI initiatives, influencing strategic decision-making, and setting standards for analytics best practice across the organisation. The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, driving insight-led transformation and mentoring less-experienced analysts.
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end strategy, design, and delivery of enterprise BI solutions using Power BI, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.
- Lead complex, cross-functional analytics initiatives, translating ambiguous business challenges into robust analytical frameworks.
- Provide forward-looking insights through advanced analytics, trend analysis, and scenario modelling to support strategic planning and performance management.
- Define and enforce data quality, governance, and reporting standards, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and scalability of BI assets.
- Act as a technical authority for Power BI, Power Apps, and Power Automate, setting design standards and best practices.
- Design and deliver sophisticated Power Apps solutions and automated workflows that materially improve operational efficiency and decision-making.
- Oversee the integration of multiple data sources and business systems, ensuring performance, security, and reliability.
- Evaluate and introduce new Power Platform capabilities and features to maximise organisational value.
- Partner with executive leaders and senior stakeholders to shape analytics roadmaps and prioritise BI investment.
- Translate complex data insights into clear, compelling narratives for executive and board-level audiences.
- Challenge assumptions and influence decision-making through evidence-based recommendations.
- Act as a key liaison between business, data, and technology teams to ensure alignment and delivery.
- Mentor and coach BI analysts and developers, contributing to skills development.
- Lead data literacy initiatives, embedding a culture of self-service analytics and insight-driven decision-making.
- Continuously assess and improve BI methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Drive the adoption of advanced analytics techniques, including predictive analytics, automation, and machine learning where appropriate.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
- 5+ years' experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or related roles, with substantial hands-on experience across the Microsoft Power Platform.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex BI initiatives with enterprise-wide impact.
- Advanced expertise in Power BI, including complex DAX, data modelling, and M language.
- Strong hands-on experience with Power Apps, Power Automate, and broader Power Platform governance.
- Advanced SQL skills with strong understanding of data warehousing, ETL/ELT processes, and data architecture.
- Experience working with multiple BI tools and exposure to advanced analytics or data science concepts.
- Exceptional analytical capability, with the ability to interpret complex datasets and deliver actionable, strategic insights.
- Strong commercial and strategic thinking, with a focus on outcomes and business value.
- Proven ability to influence senior leaders and operate effectively at executive level.
- Demonstrated leadership capability, including mentoring, technical guidance, and informal people leadership.
- Highly organised, resilient, and comfortable managing multiple high-priority initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong presentation capability.
