Ably Resources is supporting a globally recognised, state-backed energy organisation with the appointment of a Senior LNG Marketer (Long-Term Sales) to join its LNG Marketing division. This is a commercially strategic role positioned within a globally active LNG portfolio. The successful candidate will lead and support the negotiation, development and stewardship of long-term LNG Sale & Purchase Agreements (SPAs), contributing directly to portfolio optimisation and long-term value realisation.

This is not a trading execution role. It is a senior, customer-facing LNG marketing and business development position focused on complex, long-term contracting within a competitive international environment.

The remit includes:

  • Leading and supporting negotiations of long-term LNG SPAs, MSPAs and Heads of Agreement
  • Developing commercial strategies to maximise flexibility, netback value and contractual optionality
  • Originating and progressing new long-term LNG sales opportunities
  • Managing and stewarding existing long-term customer relationships
  • Analysing global LNG market trends, pricing developments and regulatory shifts
  • Identifying diversion and optimisation opportunities across contracted volumes
  • Coordinating with Legal, Finance, Shipping, Trading and internal commercial teams to structure and implement agreements
  • Advising on contractual interpretation and supporting resolution of commercial disputes
  • Contributing to long-term marketing strategy development and execution

The environment is commercially dynamic and globally competitive. Contracts are high value, complex in structure and typically span 15+ years. Negotiations are often multi-month processes involving senior stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions. Strong commercial judgement, resilience and strategic thinking are essential.

Candidate profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, Economics, Engineering, Finance or related discipline
  • 8+ years’ professional experience within LNG marketing, gas commercial or hydrocarbon business development roles
  • Demonstrable experience negotiating long-term LNG sales agreements
  • Strong understanding of SPA structures (FOB and DES/Ex-Ship)
  • Excellent commercial, analytical and evaluative capability
  • Ability to communicate complex commercial structures to senior internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong customer engagement and relationship management skills
  • Comfortable operating across international markets and time zones

This position sits within a globally significant LNG portfolio where long-term contracting strategy underpins sustained revenue generation and portfolio stability.
