Our client is a growing and highly respected engineering organisation specialising in electrical power systems and engineered solutions for the energy, utilities, industrial, and infrastructure sectors. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join their team and play a key role in the design, manufacture, testing, and delivery of complex electrical systems. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong engineer who enjoys working across the full project lifecycle, from concept and design through to manufacturing support, testing, and commissioning.

The Senior Electrical Engineer will provide technical leadership across engineering, manufacturing, testing, and project delivery activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing high-quality engineering solutions while supporting manufacturing operations and ensuring compliance with relevant standards and customer requirements.

Manufacturing Delivery & Engineering Support
  • Produce complete and accurate engineering documentation, including schematics, bills of materials, wiring diagrams, layouts, build instructions, and test procedures.
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing teams during assembly, wiring, build, and testing activities.
  • Lead fault diagnosis and root-cause investigations relating to manufacturing issues, test failures, and field returns.
  • Manage engineering change processes and ensure updates are effectively communicated throughout the business.
  • Support and coordinate Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), including test planning, documentation, witness testing, and compliance verification.
  • Ensure manufactured products comply with applicable UK and international standards.
  • Lead the design and development of electrical systems, including harmonic filters, reactive power compensation equipment, switchgear interfaces, and LV/HV assemblies.
  • Perform engineering calculations, simulations, and technical assessments to validate designs.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, reliability, standardisation, and manufacturability.
  • Provide technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle.
Testing, Validation & Quality Assurance
  • Lead testing and validation activities to ensure products meet functional, performance, and quality requirements.
  • Develop test procedures, validation processes, and commissioning documentation.
  • Investigate product performance issues and implement corrective and preventive actions where required.

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline. Significant experience in electrical engineering, ideally within power systems, power quality, utilities, industrial, or energy sectors. Proven experience in the design, manufacture, testing, or commissioning of harmonic filter systems. Strong understanding of power quality, reactive power compensation, and electrical network performance. Experience working with medium- and high-voltage electrical systems. Experience using EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical, or similar electrical design software. Knowledge of grid-connected electrical infrastructure and renewable energy projects. Experience supporting FAT, SAT, and commissioning activities.
