Our client is the UK operation of an international player providing specialist modular buildings to the energy sector. Due to ongoing project awards, a Project Manager is now required to lead projects from concept to completion.
Responsibilities include:
- Project Delivery & Construction Management
- Lead the construction phase of a modular data centre project from concept through to completion and handover.
- Manage the overall construction programme, ensuring alignment between civil works, module delivery, M&E installation, and commissioning.
- Coordinate all site-based activities, including contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and installation teams.
- Ensure works are delivered in accordance with approved design, programme, budget, and technical specifications.
- Site & Contractor Management
- Manage and supervise any subcontractors.
- Oversee manufacture, groundworks, foundations, utility connections, and site infrastructure required for modular installation.
- Coordinate delivery, lifting, and installation of prefabricated modular data centre units.
- Monitor contractor performance against programme milestones and quality standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections and progress meetings.
- Mechanical & Electrical Infrastructure Oversight
- Oversee the installation of critical infrastructure systems including electrical distribution systems, UPS and battery systems, backup generators and fuel systems, cooling and HVAC systems, fire suppression and detection systems.
- Ensure proper integration between modular units and site-based infrastructure.
- Coordinate testing and commissioning of M&E systems.
- Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with UK Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM).
- Promote and enforce a strong site safety culture.
- Ensure all contractors adhere to health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Conduct regular safety audits, toolbox talks, and site safety reviews.
- Programme & Cost Control
- Develop and maintain the construction schedule and delivery programme.
- Monitor progress and implement mitigation strategies for delays or risks.
- Manage project budgets including cost tracking, contractor payments, and variation control.
- Prepare regular project progress reports for senior management and stakeholders.
- Commissioning & Handover
- Coordinate testing and commissioning of mechanical, electrical, and modular systems.
- Manage Integrated Systems Testing (IST).
- Ensure completion of snagging, quality inspections, and compliance documentation.
- Oversee final handover to operations including as-built drawings and documentation.
Ideally will have a background in modular build environments.
