AbleCare Homes is looking for a reliable and safety-conscious Food Delivery Driver to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that expertly prepared meals from our talented chefs are delivered safely and efficiently to our homes across Bristol.

What Weβre Looking For:
- A responsible and reliable driver with a clean driving license (essential)
- Previous driving experience preferred

Responsibilities:
- Collecting Food: Pick up food from the central kitchen. Check that the order is complete and correctly packaged before leaving.
- Safe & Timely Delivery: Follow the most efficient route to the care home. Deliver orders within the expected time window. Maintain safe driving standards at all times (road safety, speed limits, vehicle checks).
- Food Safety & Hygiene: Keep cold foods cold using insulated bags and pre-cool the delivery van. Prevent cross-contamination (clean equipment, separate food types). Ensure the vehicle is clean and suitable for food transport. Follow HACCP guidelines where required (important for your setting).
- Customer Service: Greet customers politely and professionally. Confirm menu details upon handover. Handle any basic issues or queries courteously (missing items, delays, etc.). Maintain a neat, presentable appearance.
- Documentation & Records: Log van cleaning in cleaning schedule, temperature of fridge in delivery van AM/PM. Report any incidents, delays, or customer feedback. Complete temperature checks for compliance (Temperature probing before food leaves the kitchen and when it gets there, monthly probe calibration records).
- Vehicle Care: Conduct basic pre-shift checks (tyres, lights, fuel, battery). Keep the vehicle clean and roadworthy. Report defects or maintenance issues promptly.
- Communication: Stay in contact with dispatch, the kitchen, or management. Update customers with ETA changes if necessary. Report hazards, accidents, or unsafe conditions immediately.
