About the Role
Able Cleaning & Hygiene Supplies is a family-owned business with a reputation for excellence. We are looking for an experienced Field Service Engineer to join our fast-paced team. Unlike many engineering roles, we value your downtime. This position offers a genuine work-life balance with no weekend work and no on-call rotas.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Maintenance: Perform LOLER testing, PPM servicing, and repairs on medical equipment (assisted baths, hoists, slings, wheelchairs).
- Rapid Response: Attend breakdown callouts to diagnose and repair complex electrical and mechanical faults.
- Installation: Installation of medical equipment, including ceiling hoists and assisted baths.
- Chemical Dosing Equipment: Installation and maintenance of laundry dosing equipment (training will be provided).
- Client Relations: Act as a professional face of the company, maintaining excellent relationships with our care home and healthcare clients.
- Efficiency: Manage your van stock and tools to ensure high first-fix rates.
Key Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a field service or maintenance engineering role.
- Industry Expertise: Willingness to learn how to install and maintain laundry dosing equipment, and install ceiling hoist track systems and assisted bathing equipment.
- Electrical Expertise: A strong working knowledge of electrical equipment and circuitry is essential. You must be confident in diagnosing electrical faults.
- Industry Knowledge: Prior experience with medical/care brands (e.g., Arjo, Invacare, Joerns, Guldmann) is advantageous.
- Attributes: Self-motivated, practically minded, and comfortable working independently.
- License: Full UK Driving Licence is mandatory.
