Overview

This vacancy, the result of growth and a period of maternity leave will report into the owners of the business and will be office based 5 days per week. Whilst one of the accountants is leaving for a period of maternity, this is a permanent opportunity.

Responsibilities

The purpose of this role is to provide a varied mix of clients with accounting services. The clients range from sole traders, off-shore workers, real estate entrepreneurs, hotels to name a few. You will be responsible for a portfolio of these clients and will support them with personal and corporate tax returns, year end statutory accounts and management accounts. There is a designated bookkeeping and payroll team which you will also work closely with.

On a day-to-day basis you can expect to be responsible for the following:

  • Managing a portfolio of clients, ensuring excellent service and building strong, robust relationships.
  • Overseeing statutory accounts review and ensuring personal and corporate tax compliance.
  • Identifying and capitalising on opportunities for additional client services.
  • Collaborating with the team to meet deadlines and contribute to our clients' success.
  • Undertaking additional duties as directed.

Requirements

We are seeking a professionally qualified accountant who has a minimum of 2 years experience working in a practice environment as a client manager/accountant. Our client is seeking a candidate who has a professional approach and one who goes the extra mile for their clients. Systems experience with Xero, or similar would be a distinct advantage. Applicants will need to be able to communicate effectively with clients in both written and verbal form, as such excellent communication skills are crucial.

Our client does not hold a license to offer study support so will only consider applicants who are able to work unrestricted within the UK and who are based in the immediate vicinity.
