Able Bridge Recruitment are thrilled to once again be working with a seriously impressive accounting firm in the recruitment of an accounts manager. The role has been the result of successive growth in client numbers, and they are at the point where they are having to turn business away.

The organisation is unique in that it is an owner managed business where the managing partner wants the staff to benefit from the profits that they generate. You will report to the managing partner but will work closely with the practice manager in managing a small but expanding team.
The Responsibilities:
- Provide accounting services to a broad range of clients across a wide range of industries.
- Mentor team members who are currently working through their training contracts.
- Oversite on the bookkeeping function of the business.
- Responsibility for the day-to-day management of work-in-progress ensuring that key deadlines are met.
- Oversite of the client accounting department ensuring that work is distributed appropriately and that efficiencies are maintained.
- Manage (in conjunction with the practice manager) the internal accounting processes are completed appropriately and that clients are invoiced in line with agreed terms.
- Review of work completed by the department and assurance that procedures are followed.
- Review employee productivity and analyse forecasts versus actual work completed.
- Liaise with clients to gather an understanding of their requirements and their business.
- Proactively seek opportunities to grow and expand the client portfolio.
The Requirements:
- ACCA, CA or CTA qualified with a demonstrable track record of working within an accounting practice (5 years minimum).
- Excellent communication skills are essential.
- Applicants will be based in Edinburgh at least 3 days per week, however there is the prospect of working in other central Scotland locations.
