The Company Able Bridge Recruitment are thrilled to be partnering a Scottish based services business in the recruitment of a finance manager on a permanent basis. Benefits include Private Healthcare Life Insurance Flexible working hours β 30 β 35 per week Pension Free parking This vacancy is a newly created role and will form part of the leadership team of our client. You will be reporting directly to the operations director and will be the finance subject matter expert for the organisation. Although this is a stand-alone role, you will be expected (in the fullness of time), to build a team around you. The Responsibilities The purpose of this role is to manage the finances of a rapidly growing and innovative business. You will act as the operational finance contact for stakeholders internally and externally and will be accountable for the delivery of financial and management accounts within agreed timeframes. On a day-to-day basis you can expect to be responsible for the following; Develop and implement financial plans, budgets and forecasts with a view to supporting commercial decision making. Analysis of historical trends and future forecasts to deliver business partnering activities. Preparation of financial reports including profit and loss, stock and inventory as well as budget information and variance analysis. Review budget`s with key stakeholders and provide ongoing variance analysis and present ideas on cost reduction. Identify areas of risk and develop mitigation strategies to ensure financial compliance with regulatory bodies. Provision of financial advice to the board and ensure that commercial insight is provided to ensure strategic goals are delivered. Liaise with key stakeholders externally, such as tax advisors, bankers, solicitors etc, and ensure good relationships are maintained. The Requirements We are ideally seeking a professionally qualified accountant (ACCA/CA/CIMA), however qualified by experience candidates will be considered. We are looking for an experienced accountant/finance manager to come onboard to build the accounting function from top to bottom, as such we are looking for an individual who is hands on and who has worked within an SME in a similar role. We are expecting the successful applicant to be able to demonstrate strong analytical and problem solving skills. Our client has an intimate culture where everyone gets along very well so excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential. We would like to see evidence of IT literacy with advanced knowledge/experience with Excel. This is an incredible opportunity with a business that is going places.
