The organisation is unique in that it is an owner managed business where the managing partner wants the staff to benefit from the profits that they generate. You will report to the managing partner and work closely with the practice manager in managing the tax department.
The Responsibilities:
The purpose of this role is to provide a portfolio of SME clients on all matters relating to their tax obligations. You will be working closely with the practice manager in growing the client base as well as interacting closely with your customers. On a day-to-day basis you can expect to be responsible for the following:
- Completion and submittal of corporate and personal tax computations
- Ensure that the day to day running of the tax department is efficient and effective
- Maintain internal processes relating to the tax department in conjunction with the practice manager
- Review computations that are completed by team members
- Provide professional and accurate advice over tax planning, tax forecasting and complex technical queries
- Proactively seek out growth opportunities and be a highly credible ambassador for the group
The Requirements:
We are expecting the successful applicant to be either ACCA, CA or CTA qualified and have a demonstrable track record of working within an accounting practice (5 years minimum). Our client is looking for a forward facing candidate who will proactively seek to engage with colleagues and clients alike, as such excellent communication skills are essential. The firm that we are working with take huge pride in their service delivery and seek candidates who go the extra mile for their clients. Applicants will be based in Edinburgh at least 3 days per week, however there is the prospect of working in other central Scotland locations.
