Role Overview: As a Trade Mark Paralegal, you will play a key role in supporting the trade marks team. You will assist with all stages of the trade mark application process, manage client portfolios, and ensure the efficient operation of the team. This is a varied and fast-paced role where your attention to detail, initiative, and ability to meet deadlines will be crucial to your success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Processing, checking, and reporting all stages of trade mark applications.
- Preparing and filing trade marks and designs for UK, EU, International, and Foreign national jurisdictions.
- Assisting with client queries and managing large client portfolios.
- Handling responses to official objections, provisional refusals, and opposition notices.
- Managing and maintaining team diaries, ensuring deadlines are met and sending timely reminders.
- Preparing and filing recordal forms and extensions of time.
- Assisting with billing, cost estimates, and handling enquiries from the accounts department.
- Ensuring accurate and confidential storage of all client data.
- Collaborating closely with the wider team to deliver top-quality service to clients.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience as a Legal PA or Paralegal, specifically in Trade Marks.
- Completion of the CITMA Paralegal Course.
- Strong understanding of UKIPO, EUIPO, and International trade mark procedures.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Excellent written and spoken English with strong spelling and grammar skills.
- Strong organisational and research skills, with the ability to work autonomously.
- Proficiency in MS Office, digital dictation, and touch typing.
- Ability to work at pace, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
