This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with banking finance or accounting experience who are looking to further develop their career within the banking sector, particularly within a Chinese/international banking environment. My client, a well-established Chinese bank in London, is currently looking for an Accountant to join their Finance & Accounting Department. The role sits within the Finance team and will focus on operating expense management, budgeting, journal posting, reconciliation, Head Office reporting and finance control related responsibilities. The successful candidate will work closely with both local management and overseas Head Office teams.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare annual operating expense budgets and departmental budgets
- Monitor and analyse monthly operating expenses and budget variances
- Prepare journal entries and manage amortisation schedules
- Perform AP, AR and suspense account reconciliations
- Maintain fixed asset and prepaid expense registers and reconcile against GL
- Support quarterly VAT return preparation in line with HMRC requirements
- Prepare reports for Head Office and regulatory related reporting purposes
- Support both internal and external audit requests
- Assist with finance process improvements and system enhancement projects
- Manage company card expenses, settlement and related controls
- Ensure accurate financial records and strong operational controls are maintained
Requirements:
- Previous banking finance/accounting experience preferred
- Experience with GL journals, reconciliations and expense management
- Understanding of budgeting, reporting and finance operations processes
- Strong Excel skills with ability to analyse financial data
- Experience supporting regulatory reporting or audit activities would be advantageous
- Mandarin and English communication skills required
- Degree in Finance, Accounting or related discipline preferred
