This is a solid opportunity for someone who already has banking accounting experience and is looking to step into a broad, hands-on role with good exposure across reporting, reconciliation, and regulatory work. I’m currently working with an established international bank in London that is looking to hire a Mandarin-speaking Accountant to join their Finance team.
Job Responsibilities:
- Complete daily accounting entries and conduct system operations accurately and timely.
- Prepare reports for Head Office and regulatory authorities, ensuring on-time submission with no unexpected issues.
- Collaborate with external tax advisors and provide support for matters related to HMRC (Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs).
- Produce management reports and offer assistance for audits and tax reviews.
- Manage expenses, cash flow, and key balance sheet items effectively.
- Handle reconciliations for Nostro accounts, Vostro accounts, and custodian accounts.
- Provide support for fixed assets management, hedge accounting, and ongoing projects within the finance department.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and the optimisation of finance systems to enhance work efficiency.
Candidate Requirements:
- Possess around 3+ years of accounting experience in a bank environment.
- Hold a Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- ACCA or ACA qualification (qualified or part-qualified is preferred).
- Demonstrate strong Excel skills, as Excel will be used on a daily basis.
- Be fluent in both Mandarin and English (written and spoken).
