My client is seeking a motivated Assistant Credit Analyst to join their dynamic team in London. Role Overview

As an Assistant Credit Analyst, you will be a key support to the Corporate Banking and Financial Institutions team, providing comprehensive administrative and analytical support for credit applications and client portfolios. You will play a vital role in producing high quality credit analysis (including annual reviews and new transaction requests) with materials for cross border approvals required in both English and Chinese. Working closely with Relationship Managers and the Risk team, you will help balance client relationship development with robust credit risk management and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in preparing credit applications, credit ratings, and client annual review reports
  • Support post drawdown monitoring of facilities and loans, including covenant checks, timely reviews, and compliance/legal issue tracking
  • Continuously monitor the credit portfolio for quality changes due to counterparty or market factors, and recommend appropriate actions
  • Help maintain credit risk management controls, systems, and procedures aligned with organizational, regulatory, and audit requirements
  • Monitor adherence to credit limits and escalate material excesses to the Head of Corporate Banking promptly
  • Stay updated on market trends in UK and international credit markets, and key developments in international business
Requirements
  • 1-2 years of experience in producing and presenting credit analysis within Commercial, Corporate, or Investment Banking
  • Degree level education; formal credit or accounting qualifications are advantageous
  • Strong technical credit analysis skills, including financial statement analysis, sector research, and financial modelling
  • Knowledge of core corporate banking products from a credit risk perspective (overdrafts, syndicated lending, term loans, guarantees, LCs, etc.)
  • Excellent attention to detail, ability to work under pressure, and persistence in following up critical matters
  • Fluent written and spoken English and Mandarin
  • Experience analyzing companies across various sectors is ideal; exposure to large corporate clients is a bonus
